FY 2011 Proposed State Budget

The budget proposed  by Governor Pat Quinn for the next fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010, is not one that advocates for service for persons with disabilities could possibly support.

Its a combination of rate reductions for Medicaid programs, elimination of funding for non-Medicaid services and building in new delays in state reimbursement.

It will have a profound negative impact upon the quality of services provided in the community.

If implemented as proposed, it will more than likely result in the collapse of many service provider agencies.

Individuals with disabilities and their advocates must contact the Governor, Legislative leadership and their local state senator and representative to oppose this budget and restore funding for Illinois disability services.
